College applicants catch a break with a new Facebook application that predicts the likeliness of a student being accepted to a university. Startup Splash Network launched Admissions Splash in an attempt to ease the stress and tension on students applying to college.
Admissions Splash, as of now, holds specific equations for around 1,500 universities.
"Typically these services benefit students in the sense that it gives you a really rough perspective of the universities as far as your chances of getting in," said Robert Hosier, Student Recruitment Coordinator at LSUS.Although the app cannot guarantee the results will be followed by an acceptance letter, the generalized results appear to be fairly accurate. As in the case of UCLA which accepted 85 percent of the students that the application predicted would get in, according to the CNN report.
