UC Santa Cruz psychology student Crystal Faith Cajilog took off work Feb. 28 to make sure she arrived in time to get a coveted permission code to enroll in a senior seminar required to graduate.
She walked into the office at 11 a.m. for the 1:30 p.m. release of 75 available spots, only to find 110 students in front of her, some of whom queued at 6 a.m.
In all, 95 students, after waiting for hours in the psychology department hallways, were left without a seat that day.
